HELPING TEENS FEEL GOOD IN THEIR OWN SKIN

Hi, I’m Jennifer Hoffman, Certified Teen Coach…

Sometimes talking with someone outside of the family dynamic gives teens permission to show up in a new way and see life (and themselves!) through fresh eyes. I hold an inclusive space for teens while guiding them towards a growth mindset of acceptance, creativity and accountability.

I’d love to help your teen discover who they are…

Hi, I’m Jennifer Hoffman, certified Teen Coach, and I’m passionate about helping adolescents in their self-discovery journey. Over the course of thirty years I’ve worked as a nanny, photography instructor, assistant PE teacher, given countless swim lessons, and helped run adventure camps before becoming a teen coach. When other people want to run from adolescents, I truly enjoy their company and believe that if kids feel seen, they can find the inner strength they need to navigate the more stressful time of their teenage years.

Before I became a coach, I noticed that many of the teens I was working with were stressed beyond belief. Social media pressures were confusing and so many kids were feeling down about themselves and the world.

Even teens with amazing, supportive families were not getting something they needed from the structures of family, school, and even therapy. I knew how much coaching had helped me in my own life to get ‘unstuck’ and to make better choices. Coaching focuses on the person, not the problem, and I see how much it helps teens move forward into a growth mindset that helps them better navigate all the things they have going on. In our sessions, I use a structured process of creative collaboration that helps your teen feel like they’re part of the decision making process when it comes to making healthy choices for themselves. We focus on tools that guide them towards more self-compassion and understanding as well as accountability.

“The truth is, I’ve always been a bit of a ‘teen whisperer’…”

I have one client whose teen was rebelling about getting exercise, and didn’t want to walk the dog with her family or anything else that involved going outside and moving her body.

After only one session with me, I heard back from her mom a few days later, “What did you do and how can I do it, too? My daughter went for two walks with us after she met with you. When I asked her what changed, she told me it was your fault, lol. I don’t know how you did it, but I’m so grateful!”
